Bathroom Makeover {Update}

Good morning y’all!   I’ve been working all weekend on projects that I can’t wait to share with you, but I want to get the entire room done first.

I’m so excited about how things are looking in the “poop brown” bathroom that I can hardly stand it.  It is truly amazing how rooms evolve. A color scheme that I never completely planned is working beautifully!

The walls have looked like this…obviously I make decisions without hesitation…not. Ha!

Then I changed my mind…again. So, I’ve finally decided on a burlap-ish color from Behr. I may have it lightened just a little when I get it mixed today.

Late Saturday night, my dad called…right when I was trying to rip out the sink cabinet out by myself. He stopped by {my parents live a mile away} and I think he almost had a heart attack.  The pipe valves were practically unmovable which is why I needed his help in the first place.   But he said that Saturday night wasn’t the time that I wanted a potential flood on my hands, so just to wait until today.  Humph.

He’s a wise man, but I’m roping him into helping me today! 🙂  I’m so ready for this much-too-big cabinet to be GONE.  My hip that constantly hits it will be eternally grateful as well.

I’ve decided to go with the pedestal sink.  You’re not going to believe what I’m going to use for storage…or you might guess. I’ve recently posted about a piece of furniture here that is going to be perfect! 🙂

Stay tuned!!

  1. You recently wrote about choosing paint colors for your kitchen cabinets and walls. I am considering a similar scheme. I have very thick, nice oak cabinets (I could never pay to replace the quality) and dark beams on the ceiling. It is just all too dark I think and the cabinet doors need updating. I have been at the precipice of painting them a few times. So, here’s my question: you haven’t done that yet, right? I would love to see what you do and how….whenever you get to it!

    Nice that you have a dad nearby to roped into heavy-duty projects. Thanks!

    1. Hey Christy! 🙂 My kitchen cabinets are primed with Zinsser primer, but I haven’t had a chance to get them painted. I primed before we moved into the casa because the primer fumes are really strong. I didn’t want my 2 yo exposed to them. I’m hoping to get the kitchen cabs done within the next month. I’ll definitely post about it for you! 🙂

  2. How cool that your dad is nearby to help you out. 🙂 I lost my dad to cancer when I was 16. He was a really handy guy, so I like to think that he’d be around to help me out and play with the kids while my hubs is working. You are a lucky girl! 🙂

  3. Thanks for the post
