DIY Summer Wreath

/ / /

I hope y’all are having  a good week!  We’re back from being out of town over the weekend and I’m catching up on everything.  I’m so excited to show you how I made the bright and happy wreath that’s hanging on our front door for the summer.

DIY Summer Wreath

I snagged this grapevine wreath at a yard sale a few weeks ago for 0.50. Can’t beat that! I pulled off the greenery and flowers right away {ha!} and started brainstorming about what I could do with it.

I decided that a Summer wreath was in order, so I picked up my favorite Rust-oleum spray paint in the bright and happy Summer Squash color.  It’s the perfect yellow. Not too bright and not too mustardy. Love it!

During one of my way-too-often trips to Hobby Lobby, I picked up a few inches of several brightly colored fabrics that I’m in love with this year.  I made embellishments out of fabric and burlap. I think the reds, blues, greens and yellow play together fabulously!

I got the not-so-brilliant idea to use adorable lollipops on the wreath.  Well, the lollipops were adorable until I found them dripping onto the floor. Eww, what a mess!  This totally would’ve worked if I had used the wreath inside instead of on the front door. Ahem.

I pulled the sticky lollipops off, made another embellishment or two and couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out.

{burlap + bright colors = happy}

I love the simple beauty of this summer wreath. It’s easy to make and cost me less than $10! 🙂

What’s on your front door this Summer?

Have a fabulous day, y’all!!!
